Kenny Dodson is Director in the Claims Division at Health Alliance Plan (HAP), a subsidiary of Henry Ford Health System. His responsibilities include developing and conveying corporate policies and philosophies to promote quality customer service for the health plan. Dodson is also responsible for maintaining and establishing functional relationships with health care organizations to further broaden HAP’s presence in the industry. Dodson also serves as a member of HAP’s Benefits Advisory Committee and Member Communication Advisory Board. The Division annually approves approximately 1 Billion dollars in payments to health care providers throughout the state of Michigan and surrounding states. Dodson has lead several initiatives to decrease healthcare cost for physicians/hospitals and Health Plans since 2001.

Prior to becoming Director, Dodson served as Manager of the Claims Appeals Department at HAP. Primary responsibilities included administration of provider and member appeals; development of cost containment initiatives and methods to identify fraudulent billing patterns.

Dodson, a native Detroiter has coached several youth football and basketball teams in Southeast Michigan. Dodson has been a member of 100 Black Men Detroit Chapter since the fall of 2006. He’s a member of Galilee Gospel Center in Detroit. He resides in Warren with his wife and three children.
