Richard D. Chaney
Richard D. Chaney is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy. Richard D. Chaney is VP of Client Services at Health Alliance Plan. In this capacity, he has responsibility for handling inquiries for the over 540,000 Plan members, month-to-month eligibility reconciliation function for employer group’s membership and handling HAP’s member grievance/complaint processes. In addition, Richard is the facilitator for the Member Services Committee of the HAP Board of Directors.
He has over 34 years of experience in the area of health care. Prior to joining Health Alliance Plan, he worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) for 15 years, where he held several positions in the areas of customer service and claims.
In addition to his involvement as a member of 100BMGD, he serves on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ of Greater of Detroit. He has also been a mentor for several of the young people in the community. Richard also serves on the Board for the Hope & Health Coalition, a non-profit organization addressing the needs of the uninsured/underinsured.
Richard is the senior minister at Faith Community Center COGIC and lives in Detroit with wife, Pat and his two children. He completed his undergraduate work BA at University of Detroit Mercy and work on his graduate work at Marygrove College.
