Shola A. Salako
Shola Salako is a consultant and professional in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Having worked on a wide array of customer technology accounts including the US Army, General Motors, Chrysler, spanning multiple industries including the banking, federal government, automotive and application hosting industries, Shola has put his great passion for technology into very productive use and delivered great value to many businesses and clients.
As a serial entrepreneur and President/CEO of The Sholex Group, he has founded and currently manage a number of technology-based ventures including SolexStar (renewable energy), Vogue Afrik (online fashion store), Federal Procurement (import/export). With myWebAlive, a web design and affordable web hosting venture, he has helped to empower several US small businesses with innovative online presence solutions. Shola also manages the Microsoft Applications & Desktop Virtualization practices at Secure-24, Inc., a fast-growing application hosting company in Oakland County, Michgan.
Shola’s newest venture, Shazoola.com, which launches in the fall of 2017, is an innovative eCommerce software platform that connects many US businesses/retail partners with millions of African consumers and it aims to become the “eBay of Africa.” Walmart is Shazoola’s largest partner and Shazoola.com plans to connect more US manufacturers and sellers to a much wider audience.
Shola is also the founder and executive director of Agents of Hope, a non-profit organization that focuses on financial literacy and personal empowerment. Agents of Hope is one of his primary outlets for giving back to the community practicing the philosophy of “teaching others to fish” in other to help others attain a good level of self-reliance.
He attained a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Management from the University of Phoenix where he graduated at the top of his class receiving the “Student Success Excellence” award. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
Shola was born in Buffalo, New York but spent his formative years in Nigeria, West Africa. He lives in Southeastern Michigan with his lovely wife, Ola, and their three boys. He loves playing soccer, tennis and golf.
