Project Success @ Fed Reserve

"Show me the money"

Project Success students visited the Federal Reserve Bank at Detroit.  Students were given a tour of the most modern and secure facility of the Federal Reserve Bank system in the country.  Students had a chance to see real money taken out of service via shredding that is done daily at the facility.  Not only did they learn that over $6 Billion dollars were kept at this facility but that the security was more than adequate to protect it.  While learning that the life of a dollar bill is less than 18 months in circulation they also saw how money is handled via robots.  To cap off their tour they were given bags of money totaling $326, however it will take some time to piece the shredded bills........  The group was led by member Marcus Harris along with Coach Burton and other 100 members.  A great time was had by all including the fine dining at Wendy's.  Click here to view photos of field trip.
